Salvation fulfilled The Law upon the cross. But does that mean do away with It? Christ would even teach in His Gospel about following His Commandments, which shows that all of God's Law is not just thrown out the window.
John 14:15; If ye love Me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21; He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.
John 15:10; If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love.
Luke 10:25-28; Read All. Matt.22:36-40; Read All.
Matt.7:12; Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
In what sense does Paul mean 'delivered from the law'? What part of us was delivered from The Law? Paul means our 'soul', our 'inner spiritual man'. It can be no other way, since Christ did not offer us Salvation of the 'flesh', but of our 'spirit', the real part of us. Our 'spirit' has need of being renewed (reborn) through Christ for each soul to claim His offer of eternal life.
Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, "Thou shalt not covet." When we break God's Law by sinning, but have a change of heart and repent to Christ, we now have the opportunity for redemption through forgiveness in Christ. So then, we are to live by Christ's Spirit in us, and not seek to be justified by The Law.
The Holy Spirit will lead and guide us in that manner. So does this mean it's OK to go out and commit adultery, fornication, sorcery, witchcraft, etc.? Of course not do you think God's Spirit would lead us into any of those sins? No again, because those acts are of the flesh, i.e. Satan's kingdom. Isn't it extreme to think that since the Law of circumcision was fulfilled upon the cross by Christ that all murderers are now to go free? Yet many people can't seem to separate the difference, listening to false prophets and Satan's workers. And for these deceptions, the evil exists right among us today, and it was all foretold by God's prophets in The Old Testament, by Paul's Epistles, and through John in Revelation. |
