II Samuel 21:20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
…in Gath; that there was one of these giants who had on every hand 'six fingers’ and on every foot 'six toes'. In other words, they were hybrids, having left their habitation which they chose in rebelling against God by following Satan; thus they were easily singled out in the flesh as a hybrid race of beings of great stature. They became the 'mighty men' of 'old', meaning they retained the knowledge of the spirit realm while in the flesh, having great power upon the earth. The word 'renown' is 'shem' in Hebrew meaning 'name, reputation, fame, glory' (Strong's no.8034 & Brown-Driver-Briggs 8034). This means they were the 'men of name', which is to say, the men of legend, the gods of ancient mythology. So accordingly here in God's Word, the legendary heroes (mighty men) of the Greek, Egyptian, Roman, Hindu, etc. mythologies were actual events, twisted through folklore handed down through time.
Deut.3:11: For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.
…The Word speaks of king Og of Bashan whose 'bedstead' (funeral bed), was nine cubits long (approx 14ft/4.5 metres) and four cubits wide. (6ft/2meters) That is approximately 180 inches long by 80 inches wide. These cubits are also the dimensions of the tomb of Marduk, king of Babylon.1
Deut.20: Read All. 16 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: 17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee: 18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the Lord your God
We're going to document that this was God's reason for bringing the flood of Noah's time more in this 6th Chapter of Genesis as we go along. So this flood was not brought upon the earth merely because all mankind had turned morally corrupt only, but because of a mixing with Satan's host of fallen angels. It's as simple as that.
Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. |
