Isaiah 22:1 - 22:25

  The last Chapter of Isaiah covered a burden upon Babylon (Isa.21:1-12), and another upon Arabia (Isa.21:13-17), which completed seven burdens upon seven peoples, i.e. nations. These particular burdens which began with Moab (Isa.15:1), given from our Father, were to the peoples surrounding Jerusalem around 603-701 B.C., but they are also given as a type for us today also.
     For those who have a Companion Bible1, see the Scripture structure margin note on page 948 about these burdens. Note particularly structure "Y", with four burdens being applied to false kingdoms. Notice the "Valley of Vision" is one of them associated with those other false kingdoms of Babylon. This burden upon the "Valley of Vision" we will cover today, as that "Valley" is Jerusalem. And we ask a Word of Wisdom from our Father in Christ's Precious Name, Amen.

Isa 22:1   The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

     This "valley of vision" applies to Jerusalem, as we will soon discover throughout this Chapter. Jerusalem is surrounded by many hills and valleys, and the City of David rested upon a hilltop. And Jerusalem has ever been the area of many of God's prophets, who were given a vision by our Father Jehovah. Jerusalem is also the place to 'watch' concerning Biblical prophecy.
     This reference to
"the housetops" is about being a watchman. God commanded in...

Deut.22:8. When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou not bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence.

  ...To build a "battlement" on the top of the house, so as to prevent one from falling off the roof. So this is given as a symbolic warning, as God brought this king of Assyria (Sennacherib) upon Jerusalem at that time around 603 B.C. (see also Isaiah 8). Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ also gave this symbolic warning of the 'housetop' in...

 Matthew 24:17. Let him which is on the house top not come down to take anything out of his house.

He was really teaching us to take note of this historical event Isaiah was given as prophecy to Jerusalem, and then apply it as a type for the latter days also.
     It's also interesting to note that;

 Joel 3: Read All.

 ...refers to Jerusalem as the "valley of decision", with God's prophecy of the "day of the LORD" being linked with 'decision', meaning...it's all over at that point.

 Joel 3:14: Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the Valley of decision.

Our Lord and Savior will have returned on the "day of the LORD", measuring out His decision upon the future one-world Babylon false kingdom, with its head at Jerusalem. (See Matt.24; Mark 13; Luke 21; Rev.11).

So in essence here in Isaiah 22, we are being given the historical type with Jerusalem as the "valley of vision". And the last final type for the future Babylon will be the "valley of decision."
     The meaning of this '
valley' reference is that Isaiah 22 is a special warning to Jerusalem, and to the world, for today. It will cover a type for antichrist coming upon Judea, and also will single out two types of magistrates who are leaders over Jerusalem. One type of leader is represented by Shebna, who is of the scribes which crept into the affairs of God's People at Jerusalem,
