... And each one of us must find that level of patience with this evil world, to which we each can deal with, And these here in Isaiah 22:12-13 are celebrating, because they think evil cannot touch them. There are many of our brethren today who think that the latter days will be a complete downhill ride, as they are being taught they will be 'raptured' out of here, evil not touching them. Those have left God's Counsel in His Word by leaving off study from 'all' of His Word. Therefore; true Counsel and True Wisdom only belongs to God. Man has nothing, or can do anything righteous of himself. Our Lord will reveal man's own folly of self-righteousness at a time least expected, much as a thief in the night. The deception of Job's three friends is the deception of these here in Isaiah 22 and the deception of many today also.

Isa 22:14   And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, "Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts."

     God is speaking through Isaiah here. Many in Jerusalem at that historical time did suffer death at the hands of the 'king of Babylon'. For our times today, this iniquity will still not be taken away by Christ until "all" are "changed", and our Lord has returned to rule with "a rod of iron."

Isa 22:15   Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, "Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
16    'What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?

     This Shebna was a 'treasurer' over God's House in this verse, but in...

 

 2 Kings 18:18: And when they had called the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe. and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder.

 

 He was eventually demoted to a "scribe", which; was most likely his original position. The next few verses here in Isaiah will reveal this demotion by God, as Shebna no doubt historically had caused the false political alliance of Judah with Egypt against Assyria of that time. In other words, Shebna represents a leader who leads to destruction those of God's People. This 'Shebna' will even come to symbolize the followers of Lucifer, his one-world controllers, who creep into God's House and mislead.
     So just "What hast thou here?", our Heavenly Father is asking them, and us today. "Whom hast thou here..."?, God asks again. Take notes, for our Father is revealing here with Sheban one of the 'workers of iniquity', the Kenites, i.e. 'sons of Cain'. The Kenites were among the scribes who came to Jerusalem to dwell at the town of Jabez in southern Judea.

 

1 Chron.2:55. And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.

 

Make no mistake this warning from God about the Kenites who creep in still applies for us today. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ even warned all peoples about them also;
