 So this analogy between Shebna and Eliakim extends also to Christ Jesus as becoming our KING, and the "government" shall be upon HIS Shoulder (Isaiah 9). These are the spiritual "keys" our Lord Jesus did give to His Apostle Peter to build His Church upon, Which is upon The Rock, "our Rock" Jehovah through His Son Christ Jesus.

 

 Matt.16:18-19: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven:  and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

 

 And it is upon That 'Key of David' in The Knowledge of Christ, which all Churches that hold Christ Jesus dear, must rest!

 

 If you have been given that 'key' by our Lord Jesus; as none else can do so except Him, then none can shut His Truth off from you. And you can 'open', or 'shut' it, to whom you will in His Authority. That is the preaching of The True Gospel of Christ, going into the levels of depth in God's Word, as Paul the apostle also taught.

 Acts 9:15.

 

And That True Gospel of Christ begins in the Book of Genesis and continues through the Book of Revelation.

     So if you've understood our Father's deeper Message here in Isaiah 22, then He gave It to you, I didn't. Worship The Father through Christ Jesus our Saviour.

Isa 22:23   And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.

     It should be easier to understand with this verse how It can apply to our Lord and Saviour’s coming Rule as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS upon the earth.

 

 Rev.19:16 – 20. Read All.

 

This "nail in a sure place" as a perfect symbol, represents Christ Jesus.
     In Isaiah's time it represented one of God's true servants, i.e. 'Eliakim'. And the historical Eliakim may have been another name for Azariah, a son of Hilkiah who lived during the time of the prophet Isaiah. This Azariah was a priest of God .

 

2 Chron.15:1-8: Read All.

 

1 Chron.6:13. And Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah.

Isa 22:24   And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.'

     Our 'Nail'... is Christ Jesus, the Nail fastened in a sure place. That means we have a Perfect Mediator to our Father, as long as we stay on Him.

 

 1 Tim.2:5. For there is one God, one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
