This ‘tenth’ are the elect. These have existed through all times and generations. Even to the time of the end this remnant will continue teaching God’s Truth, and not man’s traditions. The ‘teil tree’ is ‘elah’ in Hebrew, a ‘strong oak’. The phrase ‘whose substance is in them’, means their ‘root’ or ‘shoot’. In other words, as the leaves of the strong oak are fallen and consumed, the ‘root stock’ of the elect will shoot forth again, year after year, as does a natural oak tree. That’s why God said also in Isaiah 1:9 that the world would all be like Sodom and Gomorrah if it weren’t for the remnant that He left in order to guide those who seek the Truth.
