Christ the Redeemer.
Pledge: The condition of being given, or held as security for a contract, payment, etc.: a thing held in pledge
Recover: To get or find again, to bring back, to retrieve, to restore, to rescue: to recover a thing.
Redeem: To deliver from sin and its penalties, as by a sacrifice made for the sinner: redeem by sacrifice
Pawnbrokers are almost as old as history itself dating back to the Greeks, Roman, Chinese civilisations, and beyond. The idea of the pawnbroker was a very simple one. If one needed to raise money in order to purchase an object(s), or even food to feed the family until let’s say payday of that week. Then the procedure would be to take an equivalent item, Pledge to the value of what you want to borrow, or raise against the item, making sure it is compatible with what you could afford to pay back, which enabled you to retrieve the item. Recover: The pawnbroker would assess the value of the item and then offer the equivalent cash value, or less, and the person seeking the loan if he/she agreed would have one week to buy back the item, having first been given a dated ticket.
He/she would have the money to buy whatever they needed, and on the following payday, (hopefully) would return to the pawnbroker with the ticket and payment. Redeemed
If he/she did not return because he/she could not afford to redeem: the pawnbroker was entitled to re-sell the item, plus interest, to recover his money at a profit. Note: - not a profit from the individual.
The pawnbroker, his method, and his sign, (See image above) are also an excellent depiction of how God dealt with Satan’s rebellion from before the beginning of Genesis, to The Revelation.
The pawnbroker’s image here of three ellipses represents the three earth ages,
1. Top left ellipse represents the first earth age, which was the spiritual age. (Past)
2. The lower middle one represents the fallen earth of today, which is the flesh age. (Present)
3. Top right ellipse represents the future earth age, which is the spiritual age. (Future)
Before we go any further here is a second opinion of the controversial gap period of Genesis. “The world that then was“
Was the Earth RECREATED after an initial creation? Is there a GAP of time between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2? Alfred Edersheim and Robert Jamieson are only a few of the many well-known scholars that support the gap. The reason that these scholars and many others are in agreement with a gap model is because the scriptures support a time period between verse 1 and 2. Young Earth Creationist's claim that no competent scholars support the gap, this is not true! Obviously if the Bible did not support the gap there would be an obvious lack of scholarly writing about it. So what exactly in the Bible can be used to support the gap model? Examining the scriptures will reveal that the overall plan of the scriptures supports the gap concept.
5. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6. Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7. But the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men.
8. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Here; God Himself sentences Lucifer to death. If you ever wondered what hell is going to be like, these verses tell us. Satan and anyone else that is sentenced to death, God will destroy their soul with fire until the only thing left is ash.
So now we have a better understanding of Satan and what his job used to be. Because of his rebellion and the fact that a third of God's children followed him, God ended the first earth age and started the second one, this is the one we are living in now.
If no one followed after Satan when he rebelled in the first earth age, God would have just destroyed him there and then, but because so many of God’s children followed him the situation was never going to be resolved. Evil, corruption, and all kinds of iniquity infested the first Earth Age, (Sound familiar?) and Satan had sowed seeds in the minds of others. So God had no alternative, and ended that earth age by bringing forth a total flood, and the earth was without form = Waste. Heb. Tohū vā bohū, Earth was not created tohū, but became tohū, “An enemy hath done this” (Not to be confused with Noah’s partial flood.) and created the one we are living in now.
There is a plan and a "theme" to the Bible and it flows from Genesis through to Revelation. But how can we understand the ending of God's plan (Revelation) if we don't fully understand the beginning (Genesis)? Today we will study several key scriptures in the Bible that many of us have just read over without fully understanding the deeper truths that were contained within them. Understanding these key fundamental truths is vital to understanding the whole of God's Word. But due to the false teachings and the half-truths that we have been exposed to our entire life, we must first unlearn the untruths, before we can learn the truths of God's most Perfect Word, the Bible.
This present topic (the beginning) is so very important because it will shatter a myth that has caused many intelligent well intentioned souls to disregard the Bible because they feel that the Bible goes against good, hard scientific fact; although in reality, nothing could actually be further from the truth. Near the end of this study, we will discover a place where God mentions the dinosaur in the Bible. This should prove unnerving to those who stake their soul on the fact of the Bible being just the imaginations of some old sheepherders in Jerusalem. For we did not even discover the existence of dinosaurs until A.D. 1800's, but the latest book written in the Bible was written in approximately A.D. 94 (Revelation). And the book that the dinosaur is mentioned in (Job) is thought to be the first book of the Bible put into writing; it is believed that the book of Job was written even before Moses scribed the book of Genesis sometime around 1490 BC.
Before putting Satan to death, God uses him to test and tempt the people of the new earth (Flesh Age) this present one we are now in, just as he did to Jesus Christ in the wilderness. (More on this further on)
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
God. The Hebrew accent (Pasek) Places the emphasis on God, the Carrier-out of His purpose. Created: i.e. when He did create. The description of the act postponed until Gen 2:7, 21-24
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
God formed man as a potter at his wheel, Heb `eth -‘ Hā’ ādhām (with article and particle) = “this same man Adam” “Why was man created last? It was because the heretics might not say there was a companion with Him in the work”: i.e. lest man should have claimed a share in it.
This Adam was formed for one purpose and one purpose only, it was God’s will that Our Lord Jesus Christ would be born from this lineage.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof.
22. And the rib which the LORD God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23. And Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Satan; the enemy, knew God’s plan and why he had created Adam and Eve, and intervened to plant his seed instead. This caused Adam and Eve to be evicted from the Garden of Eden, and all subsequent generations were of fallen parents.
God created Adam perfect until the enemy intervened, so now another perfect Adam had to be found. Through the lineage of Adam and Eve that perfect Adam was to be born to Mary and Joseph, of the house of Jesse.
Genesis 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, “Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.
The Prophet's Spiritual Mission.
When the Exile, monarchy, and state were annihilated; and a political and national life was no longer possible in the absence of a worldly foundation, it became necessary to build upon a spiritual one. This mission Ezekiel performed by observing the signs of the time and by deducing his doctrines from them. In conformity with the two parts of his book his personality and his preaching are alike twofold. The events of the past must be explained. If God has permitted His city and His Temple to be destroyed and His people to be led into exile, Judea taken captivity to Babylon, Israel captivity by the Assyrian. He has thereby betrayed no sign of impotency or weakness. He Himself has done it, and was compelled to do it, because of the sins of the people of Israel, who misunderstood His nature and His will. Nevertheless, there is no reason to despair; for God does not desire the death of the sinner, but his reformation. The LORD will remain the God of Israel, and Israel will remain His people. As soon as Israel recognizes the sovereignty of the Lord and acts accordingly, He will restore the people, in order that they may fulfill their eternal mission and that He may truly dwell in the midst of them. This, however, cannot be accomplished until every individual reforms and makes the will of the Lord his law.
Joseph's seed would indeed be "a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well" (symbolic of great waters), and the "branches" of his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh would indeed "run over the wall", founding the nations of western Europe and Asia Minor joined along with the remainder of the ten tribes of the "house of Israel". And "from thence is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel:" (Lia Fail Stone - Jacob's Pillar), also known as The Shepherd's Stone symbolizing The House of God. The Lord is my shepherd - Compare Genesis 49:24, "From thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel;"
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, (God Our Father)
Thou That leadest Joseph like a flock; (Ephraim, Israel)
Thou That dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. (Shekinah)
Genesis 49:24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel:)
From thence (that point on) the Shepherd (God Our Father) is the Stone of Israel. Heb Beyth-El, bayth-ale; house of God; Beth–El, a place in Palestine: - Beth-el.
10. And Jacob went out from Beer –sheba, and went toward Jaran.
11. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
Of the stones I.e. One from among them
12. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
Ladder Heb sullam, from salal, to pile up like terraces; a way cast up, stairway.
13. And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, “I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whence thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.
The LORD = Jehovah above it. The Hebrew accent (Zark’ā) emphasizes this as meaning “beside him” (where ‘al is rendered “By”). It is not the angels, but the Divine faithfulness and promise, which mark “this place” (vv 16,17) and make it the house of God. To thee; As He had said to Abraham, (13,15). And to Isaac (26,3) Note the “shalls” and “wills” in this and all these repetitions of Jehovah covenant.
14. And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
This can be fulfilled only in Christ. I will not leave thee. This promise first made, here to Jacob for covenant grace; to the People, for journey ((Deut 31:6); to Joshua for conflict (Joshua 1:5-8); to Solomon, for work (1 Chron 28:20); to us for daily provision (Heb 13:5-6)
15. And behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16. And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, “Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not”.
17. And he was afraid, and said, “How dreadful is this place! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”
The House of God. “This house” is the place where God meets the unworthy in grace. It was so with David (1 Chron 22:1) and it is so for us. Our place of worship is where God manifests Himself to us in grace. ”The God of all grace” is emphatically “the God of Jacob” Psalm 146:5
18. And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on the top of it.
The stone. See v 11. This is not the so-called “Coronation stone” in London: Inasmuch as the heads of the “Geological Survey of Great Britain” unanimously declared that “no stone of that kind was to be found in any part of the Holy Land whence it traditionally comes.” Prof Ramsay also pronounced it as being “not known to occur in Egypt or in the rocks around Bethel”.
19.And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of that city was called Luz at first.
The place was first known as Luz.
20. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, “ If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21. So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:
22. And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that Thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.”
This stone, God’s House = Hebrew Beth-Elohim, not Beth el.
As can be seen with Solomon's acts of turning away from our Father, and worshipping all sorts of idols instead, this is also the heart of the matter for us today. Many things can become an idol in our lives, a car, a house, even a loved one whom we put first instead of God. There's probably no better way to create divisions among our loved ones, and literally bring misfortune upon us than to deny God in our lives, turning to worship the things of the world.
We justly deserve what we bring upon ourselves by not following Him. What is truly amazing to me is how Solomon, who had direct experience from our Father's Holy Presence, and yet, he still refused to turn away from idols. I'm not judging Solomon. If it hadn't happened, the western Christian nations would not exist as they do today. Thus, this event by Solomon is a very important link in the cause of the split between the two houses of Israel, and the method of this event should be weighed very carefully in our minds today.
Which major Commandments from God were violated by Solomon?
Exodus.20:3: 'Thou shalt have no other gods before Me:"
Exodus 20:4: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"
Exod.20:5: "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;".
(Many forget to read the last part of verse 5: 'of them that hate me'. Some would teach that God would punish a child for their parent's sin, but that is a false traditional belief of man; it's not written. Each person is responsible for his or her own actions with Jehovah; that is written
Jer.17: 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruits of his doing.
If... each generation continues in following abominations, then they will be punished; simple as that.
The Crucifixion Eight. Denotes resurrection, regeneration;
The NEW TESTAMENT of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
At His first advent, Our LORD Jesus Christ arrives on the scene lowly, meek and mild, but not so in His second advent.
The Inter-Relation Of The Four Gospels.
Their Structure As A Whole.
Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds.
The Proclamation of the KING and the KINGDOM.
The rejection of the KINGDOM and the Crucifixion of the KING.
· Mathew; The Lord presented as Jehovah’s KING. “Behold… I will raise unto David a righteous BRANCH, and a KING shall reign and prosper” (Jeremiah 23:5-6; 33:15). Hence the royal genealogy is required from Abraham and David downward (Matt 1:1-17): and He is presented as what He is – before man (relatively) the highest earthly position, the KING.
· Mark The Lord presented as Jehovah’s SERVANT. “Behold MY SERVANT” (Isa 42:1) “Behold, I will bring forth My Servant THE BRANCH” (Zech 3:9) Hence no genealogy is required:: and He is presented as what He is – before God (relatively) - the lowest earthly position, the ideal servant.
· Luke The Lord presented as Jehovah’s MAN. “Behold THE MAN Whose name is THE BRANCH” (Zech 6:12) Hence the human genealogy is required upward to Adam (Luke 3 :23-38): and He is presented as what He is – before Man (intrinsically) the ideal man.
· John. The Lord presented as JEHOVAH HIMSELF. “Behold YOUR GOD” (Isa 40:9) “In that day shall Jehovah’s BRANCH (i.e. Messiah) be beautiful and glorious” (Isa 4:2) Hence no genealogy is required; and He is presented as what He is – before God
The next and last chapter is the final event in Christ’s first, and remarkable advent. This is what God planned after the rebellion by Satan, and coming to its successful conclusion if you can call it that. Satan’s sons of Cain, the Pharisees, were in turmoil not knowing how to deal with Him. They knew full well by the scriptures, and by their father Satan who He was. Being from a line of murderers they planned to kill Him, and Judas played a huge part in prophecy.
All the multitude of people shouted, “His blood be on us, and our children.” Well it has been, and a lot more to come. This horrible situation comes about mainly due to ignorance. God’s Word is available to everyone, but to date Satan is in the ascendancy and is hiding, and disguising this very fact by distracting God’s People with all kind’s of gadgets and tricks, leaving their minds wide open to Satan’s cretin’s, and false prophets. Most people today have very little understanding of the Bible, and could not care less; but very shortly all that will change.
Christ went through a wide range of insults, mocking, taunting, degradation, debilitating torture, and humiliation. To follow Christ in all His ways will be to suffer the same persecutions He did.
Jesus was crucified, died, and was buried; on the third day He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God until He comes again on the sound of the seventh trump. Satan has bruised His heel, but Christ shall return and crush Satan’s head.
This time He will not be meek and mild, but come as KING of kings, and LORD of Lords, and rule with a rod of iron.
The end of the world means the end of the age, time, or dispensation. While end = Greek, suntelia (Not ”telos”) = closing time, denoting the joining of two age-times: i.e. the closing time of one leading on to the other. The suntelia mark the closing period, while “telos” marks the actual, and final end.
Aiōn = an age, or age-time, the duration of which is indefinite, and may be limited or extended as the context of each occurrence may demand. The root meaning aiōn is expressed by the Hebrew `olām which denotes indefinite, unknown or concealed duration. In the same way we speak of “ the patriarchal age”, or “the golden age” etc. Hence it has come to denote any given period of time, characterised by a special form of Divine administration or dispensation.
In the plural we have the Heb `olāmim and Greek aiōnes used of ages, or of a succession of age-times, and of an abiding from age to age.
These ages, or age-times were all prepared and arranged by God;
And there; is a constant distinction in the New Testament between “this age”, and the “Coming age”
Divine provision was made to Adam and Eve before expelling them both from the Garden of Eden, coats and skins were made by God to cover their spiritual bodies. These coats and skins I believe, we have to discard to be with God again in paradise, and with Christ; God’s only begotten Son, has shown us the way back from Death, (Triumph over Satan) Resurrection (With Our Lord Jesus Christ) (Triumph over Satan) and back to living in peace and security in God’s New Kingdom. (Triumph over Satan) As well as all this Christ took away the sins of the world.
50. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
In other words, we cannot enter the kingdom of God while we have our flesh bodies. To enter into God’s kingdom; our bodies of flesh must be discarded, and they then return to the dust:
‘Ādām, denotes his origin, as being made from the “dust of the adamah” (ground, Latin homo). Our spiritual bodies are then free to enter. This is why at the coming of Christ we will see Him as He really is. His brightness (Shekinah) will not harm us as it would our physical, or organic sight, by blinding us as if looking directly at the sun. While also, this is the reason why there will be no need of a dying sun, or light reflection from the moon and stars. God and His Son Jesus Christ are the light, and that is why the kingdom will last forever. No disease, death, aging, corruption, (political & religious) what an absolutely wonderful time.
But like the Pharisees and Sadducees, there are those who will resist heavily (Armageddon) the second coming of Christ, as they did the first; but this time Christ will not be returning as a humble pushover.
Those who are asleep (or dead) in Christ will be changed into their spiritual bodies, as will those who are left alive. To understand why those who will resist Christ are not changed see (The Parable of the Wheat and Tares. Matt 13:30) above.
We will be changed instantly at the sound of the Seventh Trumpet, the dead, as well as those still alive will all be saved.
53. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
For all of us with a corrupt flesh body must, of necessity, discard it to enable the spiritual body to enter The Kingdom.
