The Internal Spirit

What is it?

Edited by JE Bradburn

Jesus began His work as a teacher. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/teacher.htm  that does not mean He was a philosopher or a theologian with a system to give to people, or that His interest was primarily in ideas. His interest was in men and in life. His great task was to bring in the New Day, the Kingdom of God.  http://www.godsplan.org.uk/kingdom.htm

·        However, to that end He had to teach;   http://www.godsplan.org.uk/teachingofjesus.htm He had to bring to men a new vision of God; God’s purpose and man’s life. Temptation of Jesus, Matt 4:1-11 is significant here. Jesus knows Himself as the Messiah http://www.godsplan.org.uk/whatmessiah.htm, but He will not begin with claims to power, with wonderful deeds that will bring the people to His feet and prove His office, or with alliances with the great that will bring to Him the kingdoms of the world.

·        He will follow the clear way, of duty and trust the issue to God (Which we must all endeavour to do); and the clear way is to teach men and serve men. So He goes about in all Galilee, “teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom”. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/follow.htm

·        His teaching must be studied in the light of its purpose and consequent method. Jesus was not a lecturer in a classroom, giving a course on the doctrines of religion. Jesus believed a new day was at hand that a new world was waiting for men, and that men were to live a new life with God and their fellows. It was His task to proclaim this good news and to summon men to prepare for it. His call was, “Repent and believe the good news”.

 This purpose explains His method: (1) http://www.godsplan.org.uk/beforegenesis.htm

2 Peter 3:5-6 (KJV)

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: (Not to be confused with Noah’s flood).

(2) The Restoration (The formation of the fallen earth) http://www.godsplan.org.uk/2%20Peter%203.htm

Genesis 2:7 (KJV) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into His nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Breath: Hebrew neshāmāh See Ap 16 Occurrences of neshāmāh (breath) Gen. 2:7; 7:22. https://levendwater.org/companion/append16.html

Here the "of" is equivalent to "that is to say", or, "consisting of".  Gen. 2:7, "The breath of life" = the breath, that is to say, life.  John 2:21, "The temple of His body" = the temple, that is to say, His body (and ours) Rom. 4:11, "The house of our tabernacle" = the house, that is to say, our tabernacle.

image002Romans 4:11 (KJV) And He received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which He had yet being uncircumcised: that He might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

2 Corinthians 3:17—18 (KJV)

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

"The spirit of the Lord" = the spirit, that is to say, the Lord (Christ); Who is the life of the old covenant, as the body without the spirit is dead. (So it is with us, his servants.)

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. When we as humans expire, the flesh and bones return to the earth from whence they came; and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

James. 2:26 (KJV) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1Pet.er 1:1(KJV) Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

"Sojourners of the Dispersion" = sojourners, that is to say, the Dispersion.

Genesis 4:1-2 (KJV)   http://www.godsplan.org.uk/book1.htm

1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.

2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Cain and Abel were paternal twins - Superfecundation is the fertilization of two or more ova from the same cycle by sperm from separate acts of sexual intercourse. The term is also sometimes used to refer to the instances of two different males fathering fraternal twins, though this is more accurately known as heteropaternal superfecundation. This therefore leads to the possibility of twins also being half-siblings. The term superfecundation is derived from fecund, meaning the ability to produce offspring. So now (Gen 4:1) reveals that Cain is Satan’s son. (Tares)  (Gen 4:2) reveals that Abel is Adam’s son. (Wheat). http://www.godsplan.org.uk/markofcain.htm The enemy (Satan) came and seduced Eve the first time because he knew of God’s lineage to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and attacked it through Eve therefore bringing his own lineage into existence. Eve then gave to Adam her husband the same as Satan.

Genesis 3:6 (KJV) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food (SEED), and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit (SEED) thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

1 Timothy 2:14 (KJV) And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

It must be remembered that in those days past, Adham were made in the likeness of God from the ground of the Adamah and Eve was taken out of Adam as a helpmeet (Gen 2:18). They were both spiritual and had no flesh; never being ill or ageing, and were easily led astray by the wiles of that old serpent the devil. This is how the two lineages came into existence, although Satan’s lineage through copying God’s lineage http://www.godsplan.org.uk/Bereshith.htm only went a little way. Matt 13:24—30 (KJV) will now be better understood by reading Wheat and Tares parable, and the explanation. Here is the source of all the trouble on this fallen earth when our parents, being expelled, had to contend with Satan’s lineage for the next 6000 years. http://godsplan.org.uk/fleshage.htm  http://www.godsplan.org.uk/jehovah%27sword.htm

Wheat & Tares Parable http://www.godsplan.org.uk/parables.htm

Matthew 13:24—30 (KJV)

24 Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:”

25 ‘But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.’

26 ‘But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.’

27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, ‘Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?’

28 He said unto them, ‘An enemy hath done this.’ The servants said unto him, ‘Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?’”

29 But he said, ‘Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.’

30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.’”

Matthew 13:36—43 (KJV)

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto Him, saying, “Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.”

37 He answered and said unto them, “He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;”

38 “The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;”

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.”

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.”

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;”

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Cain rose up and killed his (half) brother Abel and by so doing, murder had entered the world. This is Satan’s second attempt to obstruct God’s Plan, and the genealogy begins down to Noe, or Noah.

(4) http://www.godsplan.org.uk/firstand%20secondadam.htm  http://www.godsplan.org.uk/secondadvent.htm

 Luke 1:35 (KJV) And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

It is Elyon, as possessor of the earth, Who divides the nations "their inheritance".

John 2:21 (KJV) “But He spake of the temple of His body.”

Mark 14:58 (KJV) We heard Him [Jesus] say, I will destroy this temple [body] that is made with hands, (Gen 2:7 above) and within three days I will build another [body] made without hands. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/earthlytabernacle.htm

Romans. 4:11 (KJV) And He received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith, which He had, yet being uncircumcised: that He might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; [Like Jews] that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: [Gentiles].

2 Corinthians. 5:1 (KJV) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle [Flesh body] were dissolved, we have a building [Spiritual body] of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

James. 2:26 (KJV) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1Peter. 1:1 (KJV) Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

His concern was with the inner Spirit.

He was living in an order wholly different from the one in which we live today; His was an autocratic order in which His disciples had to accept what was found as given. He Himself expected a new order to come, but not through human revolution or reform. The immediate need was; and still is today, repentance and a new Spirit; with that God could add all else.

·        It was His special task to call men to repentance, and to make clear what this New Spirit is.

·        Nevertheless, the teaching of Jesus is social in the deepest sense. He is considering how men are to live together in the New Order. (Not to be confused with Satan’s New World Order). It is a social life He constantly envisages. The principles which He enunciates (pronounces) have the most direct and sweeping significance for all the associated life of all men, including the institutions in which that life is bodied forth.

·        His teaching has even more permanent significance because He did not lay down rules for application. It required simply that men should come to have His Spirit, and to see its implications. The internal spirit in this habitation of our flesh body has been explained to you with images and words; but departing the flesh body is another matter. When we pass away Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJV explains in no uncertain terms what the next stage is: Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.  This is why; at His second coming, those left alive will see God as He really is, because we will have no flesh bodies to worry about only spiritual. This is also why God put Moses in the cleft of a rock as He passed him by. Exodus 33:22 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, while My glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with My hand while I pass by:

·        His teaching on divorce is not an effort to give rules for civil or ecclesiastical procedure, but to set forth a Spiritual ideal. If he gives more time to the matter of wealth, it is because of the besetting peril that lies here, the peril of putting things above men. Sometimes covetousness appears as a hardness and oppression toward one’s fellows, sometimes as the folly, which sells its own soul; the error is the same.

The Holy Spirit

Is mentioned several times where it acts as an agent of divine action or communication. It is commonly identified with the angel Gabriel (Arabic Jib reel). The Spirit without the adjective "holy") is also used as the creative spirit from God by which God enlivened Adam, (2:7) and inspired the angels and the prophets.

It was imparted to us by Jehovah, Who guides us in all Spiritual ways, and the right way of living. It is the most fundamental, and significant gift of God given to us; His children.  The human body apart from this Holy Spirit, is dead.

Ap 139 The bearing of this on (1Pet. 4:6 below) will be better seen if we note that we have nekroi (See No. 2 above), meaning people who were then dead, but who had had the Gospel preached.  (Ap. 121. 4) to them while they were alive; and this is confirmed by the Gr. Particle, men (= although) in the next clause, which is ignored both by the A.V. and R.V.  The verse reads thus :  "For to this end to those who are (now) dead was the Gospel preached, that though they might be judged in the flesh according to [the will of] men (*), yet they might live [again, in resurrection], according to [the will of] God, as regards [the] spirit";

1 Peter 4:6 (KJV) For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.  http://godsplan.org.uk/greattribulation2.htm

1Corinthians 15:44—45 (KJV)

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body (See image above).

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Christ) was made a quickening spirit. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/secondadvent.htm

170.  THE SYNONYMOUS WORDS FOR"LIFE" (alike in meaning or significance).

There are three principal words translated "LIFE".  Their shades of meaning are to be distinguished as follows: --

1.      Zōē = life in all its manifestations; from the life of God down to the lowest vegetable.  It is life in activity, and thus especially is the opposite of death.  It involves resurrection life and eternal life;   http://www.godsplan.org.uk/earthlytabernacle.htm and hence, as such, is the "gift of God" (Rom. 6:23.  1John 5:12).  For the same reason its verb zaō is frequently used of, and put for, resurrection life (Matt. 9:18.  Mark 16:11.  Luke 24:5, 23.  John 11:25, 26.  Acts 1:3; 9:41; Rom 6:10; 14:9.  2 Cor. 13:4.  Rev. 1:18; 2:8; 13:14; 20:4, 5).

John 11:25 (KJV) Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”

Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 5:12 (KJV) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Matthew 9:18 (KJV) While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, “My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.”

2.      bios = life, as lived, manner of life; life as led, &c.; zōē being life as one experiences it; bios as others see it.  This is used therefore, only of mankind, who not only live but lead lives.  Hence the differences between ZO-ology and BIO-graphy.  Zōe is life in its principle; bios is life in its manifestations (Luke 8:14).  Bios is also put by Fig. Metonymy (of Adjunct.), Ap. 6, for livelihood, or that which supports animal life (Luke 8:43).  It occurs eleven times (Mark 12:44.  Luke 8:14, 43; 15:12, 30; 21:4.  1Tim. 2:2.  2Tim. 2:4, 1Pet. 4:3, 1John 2:16; 3:17)

Luke 8:14 (KJV) And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/parables.htm

3.      psuche = the breath of animal life; one of the manifestations of zōē, common to all living animals.  In one passage (Isa. 10:18, the Heb. nephesh (Ap. 13), Gr. psuche) is applied to vegetable life.  It is used of the living individual as such.  For its various renderings and usages, see Ap. 110. http://levendwater.org/companion/index_companion.html

Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1John 5:12 (KJV) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Matthew 9:18 KJV) While He spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, “My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.”

Mark 16:11 (KJV) And they, when they had heard that He was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

Luke 24:5, 23 (KJV)

05 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”

23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, ‘that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.’

John 11:25—26 (KJV)

25 Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:’

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?’”

Acts 1:3 (KJV) To whom also He shewed himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Acts 9:41(KJV) And He gave her His hand, and lifted her up, and when He had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

Acts 25:19 (KJV) But had certain questions against Him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

Romans 6:10 (KJV) For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

Romans 14:9 (KJV) For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living.

2 Corinthians 13:4 (KJV) For though He was crucified through weakness, yet He liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.

Revelation 1:18 (KJV) I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 2:8 (KJV) And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the First and the Last, which was dead, and is alive;

Revelation 13:14 (KJV)And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Revelation 20:4—5 (KJV)

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

There exists in Scripture a fundamental principle regarding the origin and understanding of Bible prophecy. The principle is mentioned in this passage:

2 Peter 1:20--21 (KJV)

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Bible prophecy is not the product of human intellect or will power. It is a gift from God. Holy men of old were inspired by the Holy Spirit: or, as the text says, "they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

In exactly the same way, the understanding of Bible prophecy is not just a matter of human intellect or will power. One must be given understanding just as the prophets of old were given the prophecy. In other words, spiritual insight is also a gift from God. This means that without the Holy Spirit it is impossible to correctly understand, appreciate, or even believe a Bible prophecy. Understanding must come from above either through: Direct revelation, which few of us are privileged to receive, or From the Bible itself, and then only if the Holy Spirit opens our minds to understand. Insight = (The ability to perceive clearly or deeply; penetration: A penetrating and often sudden understanding, as of a complex situation).

As far as this generation is concerned, we must look to the Bible to interpret itself:  http://www.godsplan.org.uk/dispensationalplan.htm for none of us can compare with the prophets of old who had direct revelation. Bearing these basic facts in mind, explains to the individual; the power of understanding, and the misfortunes of misunderstanding.

To explain these phenomena further, it is imperative we scrutinise the image to the left to clarify this matter. We are able to do this by explaining all three subjects;

1.      Brain.

2.      Mind.

3.      Spirit.

When one of these three (the brain) dominates the other two (mind and spirit), the remaining two will serve in subservience to it. Therefore, the person you are, or want to be, depends on which of these dominates you. This is very important to understand. In these days of technology, most people understand what a hard drive is. This would be the perfect analogy to what I wish to explain.

The Brain.

If we use a computer and identify it as a human for the purposes of this analogy, we could say that a computer would be active, so long as we plugged it in and switched it on. The software written into the programmes would see to that, and so the computer although it could do very little, would nevertheless be live. It is the same with the human body; but instead of software running it, it is the brain. The brain is designed to monitor and regulate our respiratory system, our temperature, our five senses, and our heart, in other words the BRAIN keeps us alive even in a coma. If we were to study and take in a huge amount of information, it is probable that the brain would collapse, or crash.

We can say, therefore; that inside this body, besides our vital parts, are three very important functions, one of these is the brain. In today’s world, the brain is credited with intellect through study, and this is false. All we have read so far is understood only by the intellect, or the MIND, not the brain.

The Brain = survival which means to people where the brain is dominant that food, drink, lust, perversions, stealing, bad language, wanting, not needing, killing, etc are being led by the brain only and do not think of the consequences of their actions. These verses of Peter say it all, much better than I could.

image0032 Peter 2: 1—22 (KJV)

01 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

02 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

03 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Feigned: to make a show or pretence of something

04 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

05 And spared not the old world, (2 Peter 3:5—6) but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world [fallen world] of the ungodly;

06 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

07 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

08 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

09 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished:

10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceiving’s while they feast with you;

14 Having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure [flattering or desirable] through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, ‘The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed [is back] to her wallowing in the mire.’

2 Peter 2:12 (KJV) But these, as natural brute beasts made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not, and shall utterly perish in their own corruption.

Nephesh is used of Man, as possessing animal appetites and desires, in twenty-two passages, rendered in five different ways :-- http://levendwater.org/companion/append13.html  In the A.V. and R.V. it is translated "soul" 472 times, while in the other 282 places it is represented by forty-four different words or phrases.  In fifty-three of these places there is a marginal rendering which calls attention to the fact that the word is "Nephesh", while in 229 passages the English reader has hitherto been left in ignorance of the fact.  The English word "soul" is in every occurrence the rendering of the Hebrew Nephesh, except in Job 30:15 and Isa. 57:16.  See the notes.  the time has come to "open the book", and let it speak for itself.  Henceforth, everyone who uses The Companion Bible will have complete information as to the facts, and can use it in determining his definitions, making his own classifications, and formulating his doctrines as to the Biblical use of the word.

1.      "Soul" Num. 11:6 (dried away). (Deut. 12:15 (lusteth), 20 (longeth to eat flesh), 20 (lusteth after), 21 (lusteth); 14:26 (lusteth), 26 (desireth); 21:5 (loatheth).  1Sam. 2:16 (desireth).  Job 6:7 (refused); 33:20 (abhoreth).  Ps. 107:18 (abhoreth).  Prov. 6:30 (hunger); 13:25 (satisfying).  Isa. 29:8 (empty), 8 (hath appetite).  Mic. 7:1 (desired...figs). 17

2.      "pleasure" Deut. 23:24. 1

3.      "lust" Ps. 78:18. 1

4.      "appetite" Prov. 23:2.  Ecc. 6:7. 2

5.      "greedy" Isa. 56:11.

The mind = Greek nous (Reason and knowledge as opposed to sense perception. The rational part of the individual human soul).

But when the Mind and Soul are in harmony with each other; we not only receive the Word of God, but also understand it. And the TRUTH sets us free. Even those who believed on Him could not understand this TRUTH:

John 8:30-35 (KJV)

30 As He spake these words, many believed on Him.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, “If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed;”

32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

33 They answered Him, “We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man:’ how sayest Thou, ‘Ye shall be made free?’”

34 Jesus answered them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.”

35 “And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.”

“29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. 30As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.”

The brain can then get on with what it is designed to do, to keep the flesh body alive and functioning until it is time for us to go. The mind nous: is a direct line to God through the indwelling Holy Spirit; this is how Jehovah knows His own sons, what is in their heart, and even knows what each person needs before he asks. When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly, I tell you, they have received their reward in full. However, when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. However, if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

The mind is likened to a fertile field, you can plant anything in it and it will return whatever you plant; in wonderful abundance, good or bad.  http://vimeo.com/11731116   Hear Dale Nightingale’s, The Strangest Secret.

image006The indwelling Holy Spirit will lead you into all TRUTH concerning God, making it much easier to learn what is being taught. However, you will not be allowed to run before you can walk. It takes time to learn, and believe, all that comes your way; but it is well worth the time and effort for you and your family.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV) Then shall the dust [of the flesh] return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into His nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

1. The principle of conscious life; the vital principle in humans, animating the body or mediating between body and soul.

                                                                                 2. The incorporeal part of humans: present in spirit though absent in body.

                                                                                 3. The soul regarded as separating from the body at death.

Genesis 6:17 (KJV) And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die.

Zechariah 12:1(KJV) “The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, Which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

There it is; for everyone who wants to find the TRUTH. It cannot be any plainer than that, which has been laid out in such order in God’s Word. Here it is for those seeking the Truth, and not those who do not understand, nor can perceive the facts placed before them. It is their sad loss, even though it only needs belief and repentance. For those who are looking to find the TRUTH, they will need to perform many hours of studying, prayers, and be consistent.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

A Good Fellow Soldier http://www.godsplan.org.uk/armyofgod.htm  The old campaigner for the Gospel, convinced his campaigning days are over, appears to Timothy to see to it that the campaigning shall not cease. He is to recruit and train helpers who will pass on the things learned from Paul and proved in so many testing experiences. Any good soldier will suffer hardship for his cause! The service of Christ calls for the same kind of fidelity and rigorous devotion which prompts a soldier to free himself from all distracting interests and give himself with undivided zeal to the leader whose approval he seeks, which prompts an athlete to keep himself in training and to keep all the hard rules of the game, that he may win his laurel, or a gardener to toil slavishly, that he may reap a harvest.

2 Timothy 2:4-5 (KJV)

4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Every worthy end demands its toll in labour, hardship, devotion, and loyalty. The Lord enable thee to see how the tremendous responsibility of taking the Gospel of Christ to others justifies every hardship and all devotion! This is increasingly clear to one who keeps thinking about Jesus Christ, of David’s royal line, raised from the dead, according to that Gospel for which Paul has been imprisoned like a common criminal; however, stopping him, or binding him, will not stop or bind the Gospel; that must go on.

2 Timothy 2:9 (KJV) Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

He endures everything gladly, that he made aid others, all God’s chosen ones, to share the saving power and fellowship of Jesus Christ. It is a faithful word that promises rich reward for all we suffer or endure. In suffering or dying for the Gospel we suffer and die with Christ, and He will see to it that are reward is sure. http://www.godsplan.org.uk/christianrace.htm

Paul proceeds in this paragraph to give Timothy further counsel as to how he may become the kind of workman that God will approve.

·        He begins with advice about training others who are to become Christian teachers;

·        The great central TRUTHS of the Gospel are to be kept clearly before them,

·        While they are warned against mere word-wars, against contentious preaching which antagonises the hearers, and neither wins nor profits converts.

Timothy 2:16 (KJV) But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Then he changes to direct appeal and urges Timothy to win God’s approval by living the TRUTH, and exemplifying His words. Let him give exposition of the Gospel (a setting forth of the meaning or purpose) both in his teaching and in his character so true to the Spirit of Christ that his work may never cause God to blush. The babblings decried in (verse 16 above) are empty, irreligious discussions always current, which distract attention from the true issues of Godliness, breakdown the Spiritual life and in their demoralising activity spread like cancer.

God’s TRUTH stands firm, and the true teacher of His TRUTH must pass two tests.

1.      First, he must in some way show that God is with him—The Lord knoweth His own.

2.      His life must correspond to his teaching—Let everyone that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.

As in any household there are many kinds of vessels and furnishings, of varied value, rank, honour, and grades of service, so in the church, the household of God, the members are vessels to be used of the Master, some for higher, some for humbler service. Let the teacher keep himself clean and free from the contaminations of the false teachers so that he may be a teacher of honourable rank, set apart, fitted and equipped for good service in his masters’ service.
